我校聘任美国Drexel大学Yury Gogotsi 教授为名誉教授

7月16日上午，我校在逸夫会议中心的中心会议室为美国Drexel大学Yury Gogotsi 教授举行了隆重的名誉教授聘任仪式。出席此次聘任仪式的有北京化工大学校长谭天伟、副校长王峰、国际交流与合作处处长毛立新、人事处副处长冯赫、材料科学与工程学院副院长于中振。100多名师生参加了聘任仪式。聘任仪式由王峰副校长主持。
于中振教授向在座师生介绍了Yury Gogotsi 教授的履历及其研究成就，谭天伟校长为Yury Gogotsi 教授颁发了北京化工大学名誉教授聘书，学生代表为Yury Gogotsi 教授献花并佩戴校徽。随后，谭天伟校长代表学校对Gogotsi 教授受聘为我校名誉教授表示热烈欢迎，他高度评价了Yury Gogotsi 教授在材料领域取得的杰出成就，期待Yury Gogotsi 教授的加盟能更好促进我校材料学科的发展与壮大，为学校在人才培养和科学研究等方面作出贡献。Gogotsi 教授发表了热情洋溢的讲话，他表示自己能够被授予我校名誉教授称号深感荣幸，他一定会珍惜这份荣誉，不断加强与北京化工大学的交流与合作，为北京化工大学的人才培养和科学研究，尽自己的一份力量。
聘任仪式后， Gogotsi 教授为在场师生带来了题为“ Expanding the World of Two-Dimensional Materials ”的精彩学术报告，并耐心回答了在场师生们的提问。报告内容基础性和创新性强，给在场师生们留下印象深刻，受益匪浅。
Yury Gogotsi 教授简介：
Prof. Yury Gogotsi is Distinguished University Professor and Trustee Chair of Materials Science and Engineering at Drexel University. He is the founding Director of the A. J. Drexel Nanomaterials Institute and Associate Editor of ACS Nano. He works on nanostructured carbons and two-dimensional carbides for energy related and biomedical applications. His work on selective extraction synthesis of carbon and carbide nanomaterials with tunable structure and porosity had a strong impact on the field of capacitive energy storage. He has co-authored 2 books, more than 400 journal papers and obtained more than 50 patents. He has received numerous national and international awards for his research, with the latest one being the 2015 Nanotechnology International Prize from RUSNANO. He was recognized as Highly Cited Researcher by Thomson-Reuters in 2014 and 2015, and elected a Fellow of AAAS, MRS, ECS, RSC, ACerS and the World Academy of Ceramics.
